With nearly 30 years of experience as a board-certified psychotherapist, Dr. Jacob Smith is committed to delivering exceptional services to individuals and families. Her interactive, warm, and direct approach ensures that therapy is customized to meet each person's unique needs.
At The Smith Counseling Group, Dr. Jacob Smith leads a specialized center that focuses on individual and family therapy. Her expertise includes evidence-based eating disorder treatments, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-centered psychotherapy (particularly for Complex PTSD), supervision, and training.
Dr. Jacob Smith, a distinguished professional holding a doctorate in counseling from The George Washington University and receiving highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, brings a wealth of experience in clinical practice and research. Her contributions extend to educating students at The George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University, enriching the academic environment with her expertise.
Certified in Advanced Trauma Treatment and as a Nationally Certified Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), Dr. Jacob Smith is an Approved Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Maryland. Her focus is on ensuring that every therapy session is fruitful, striving for immediate symptom relief and long-term personal growth and transformation.

With a remarkable 10-year background, Andrea Santelices has established a solid presence in the DC area. Recognized as the "Top Therapist" by Washington Family Magazine, Andrea's expertise in mental health has been showcased on various news channels. As a licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Andrea is expanding her skill set to specialize in Eating Disorder treatment through Family Based Treatment (FBT). She focuses on assisting teens, adults, and couples in conquering anxiety and navigating trauma across personal, professional, and relational domains, including anxiety co-occurring with ADHD.
Trained in evidence-based practices like CBT, CPT, and EMDR, Andrea is well-equipped to address anxiety, ADHD, depression, and trauma effectively. Her commitment to client well-being, honed through studies at Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, drives her mission to empower individuals seeking positive change. By fostering a supportive environment, Andrea guides clients towards a balanced life, fostering control, satisfaction, and growth in both personal and relational spheres.

Anne Levin, MSW, LCSW-C
Anne Miriam Levin, MSW, LCSW-C, specializes in individual, couples, and family counseling. She has additional training in Family Based Treatment (FBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for eating disorders, and Trauma Treatment. Anne completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Rochester and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.
Anne's areas of focus include eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, parenting support, bereavement, loss, and grief. She aims to create a therapeutic space that is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental. Clients work on identifying and understanding patterns and barriers that hinder their goals in a safe environment.

Nicola Sater, MD
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Sater is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in treating adult patients with mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Having completed her medical education at Washington University in St. Louis and residency training at Johns Hopkins University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.
Throughout her career, Dr. Sater has been dedicated to providing comprehensive care to her patients. From her time at Sibley Memorial Hospital to her current private practice, she has worked with psychiatric inpatients, outpatients, and offered consultation liaison services. Her areas of expertise extend to treating individuals with eating disorders and chronic pain issues, where she has successfully implemented family-based treatment strategies.
Dr. Sater emphasizes a collaborative approach to patient care, often working closely with therapists, nutritionists, and primary care providers to address the diverse needs of her patients. Her commitment to holistic and individualized treatment underscores her passion for improving the mental health and well-being of those under her care.
